Inmubo ("we," "us," or "our") operates SubOwl, an AI-powered subscription tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and website at subowl.app.

2. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored in hashed form).

Subscription Data

You manually enter subscription information including service name, category, amount, currency, billing cycle, renewal date, and optional notes. This data is entered entirely by you and is not collected automatically.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use SubOwl, including pain points survey responses, subscription usage tracking, and waste score results.

Device Data

We collect push notification tokens, device platform (iOS/Android), and app version to deliver notifications and maintain compatibility.

Website Data

If you join our waitlist on the website, we collect your email address via Brevo.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing and maintaining the SubOwl service, including subscription tracking and management
  • Performing AI-powered waste analysis on your subscriptions
  • Sending push notifications for renewal reminders and alerts
  • Analyzing app usage to improve our features and services
  • Providing customer support
  • Communicating updates about SubOwl (with your consent)

4. AI Data Processing

SubOwl uses artificial intelligence to analyze your subscriptions and calculate waste scores. When you request a waste analysis, your subscription data (service names, categories, amounts, and usage patterns) is sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) for processing.

Important: No personally identifiable information — such as your name, email address, or account details — is shared with OpenAI. Only anonymized subscription data is transmitted.

AI analysis is only triggered when you explicitly request it. It does not run automatically in the background.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate SubOwl:

  • Supabase (EU/Frankfurt) — Database hosting and user authentication
  • OpenAI — AI-powered waste analysis and subscription scoring
  • RevenueCat — In-app subscription and purchase management
  • PostHog (EU) — Product analytics
  • Sentry (EU/Germany) — Error tracking and crash reporting (no personally identifiable information is sent)
  • Expo — Push notification delivery
  • Brevo — Email and waitlist management (website only)

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Authentication tokens are stored securely in iOS Keychain and Android Keystore
  • Row Level Security (RLS) ensures you can only access your own data
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
  • No personally identifiable information is included in error reports

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability — Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection — Object to certain processing of your data

You can delete your account directly within the app via Settings. For data export requests or to exercise any of the above rights, contact us at support@subowl.app.

9. Children's Privacy

SubOwl is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
